About Jaehyeok

Jaehyeok is an incoming Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Yale University. Jaehyeok obtained his B.S. in Chemistry and Mathematical Sciences at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Then, he received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Chicago in 2021, where he worked with Prof. Gregory Voth on the foundations and methodologies of bottom-up coarse-grained modeling (Thesis: Statistical Mechanical Paradigms for Next-Generation Multiscale Theory and Simulation). From 2022 to 2026, Jaehyeok was an Arnold O. Beckman Postdoctoral Fellow at Columbia University, where he worked with Prof. David Reichman to develop first-principles approaches for mesoscale modeling of materials.
